The Crow Wing County Board of Commissioners created the Mission Lakes Improvement District on December 16, 2025. The Board passed Resolution 2025-65 establishing the Mission LID as a government entity with taxing authority.
Mission LID is “authorized to undertake long-term non-native aquatic plant management and water quality monitoring and improvement efforts as outlined in the LID’s foundational documents and as determinednecessary and appropriate by its Board of Directors and in cooperation with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and Crow Wing County. Projects of the lake improvement district wil be financed by special assessments imposed on riparian landowners pursuant to county policies.”
